Our Story
The story of Cornerstone Summit begins in 2004 as God put in the heart of Pastor Reggie Hunt, his wife Julie Hunt, and a few community leaders to begin an intentionally cross cultural, relational church that would develop mature and devoted disciples of Christ to impact the community of Boone and the High Country Region.
Cornerstone Summit opened its doors in a small building on King Street in Boone, NC in February of 2004. The first meetings were Bible studies on Sunday evenings, with originally 15-20 in attendance. In 2005 the church transitioned to a Sunday morning service, bringing growth that overflowed with seating into the side rooms of the main sanctuary. With engaging worship, a dynamic word, and a growing community of believers, Sunday expanded to two morning services and a Wednesday Night service in 2006.
With the growth came a diversity of people and expansion of ministries and outreach into the community. The ministry has grown to have significant impact in the university, the community, and through both local and international missions. Upon returning from their second missions trip to Mexico City, Cornerstone Summit transitioned from the original King Street location to Hardin Park School for Sunday mornings. They had their first service at the new location on Sunday, August 2, 2009.
Since its beginning, Cornerstone Summit has experienced continued increase and seen countless lives changed.
